Onimusha Sengoku-era survival action game series was introduced by CAPCOM in 2001. The games in the series relate tales from the Sengoku period while including paranormal aspects. Onimusha: Warlords, the most recent game in the collection, was remastered and published in January 2019.
The Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams computer-animated film from 2006 was influenced by the game series. The movie combines the computer-generated animation from the Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams PlayStation 2 game with new animated segments.
