Kalidou Koulibaly’s fantastic volley goal from a corner kick from Marc Cucurella gave Chelsea the lead early in the game. Chelsea controlled the game for the majority of the time.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s shot past Edouard Mendy in the second half brought Spurs even, despite Chelsea’s protests over a possible foul and offside. The first altercation between Conte and Tuchel on the sidelines resulted from this.
With only 12 minutes remaining, Sterling set up James to give Chelsea a 2-1 lead, but Kane sealed the victory by nodding in deep into extra time. Following the game’s conclusion, Conte and Tuchel got into another heated argument, with the Chelsea manager luring Conte toward him after shaking hands. Both men received red cards for their actions.
