Second Sunday of March of 2020 which is on 8th has been celebrated in all over the world as International Women’s Day.
The theme of International Women’s Day in this year is ” I am Generation Equality : Realizing Women’s Rights”.
What is International Women’s Day?
On 8th of March of every year, people around the world celebrate this day as a International Women’s Day. This day has been celebrated to know every women that this world is yours as much it is of mans. Women’s are equally consider in every field. In many fields Women’s are performing more efficient than man. This day is celebrated to show the Woman’s Power and importance in our world.
International Women’s Day “Theme”
Lets discuss the theme in more detail. It means that as a Women you can choose to challenge stereotypes, fight bias, broaden perceptions and celebrate women’s achievements to create a gender equal world where any women can look up to their dreams and find themselves as equal to womens.
The first International women’s day was celebrated in 1911.
In all over the world the International Day will be celebrated on 8th March when all the recognize the achievements made by all the women’s and spread awareness to all the women’s about their rights.
When did International Women’s Day begin?
In 1977 the history was first created when the first International Women’s Day was celebrated. Exact date is not officially recognized but in early 20th the International Womens day become more famous and many women’s start taking part in it
The first women’s who celebrated the first International day was in Russia during World War I which is on March 8, 1913.
From that year it becomes kind of tradition. In second world war also on same date 8th March the Women’s day was again celebrated.
About International Women’s Day
This year The United Nations is focusing on the gender equality and Human rights for all the women and girls in all over the world as mentioned in the theme.
“2020 is a massive year for gender equality,” said Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka. She is the executive director of UN Women. She also said “And the benefits of gender equality are not just for women and girls, but for everyone whose lives will be changed by a fairer world that leaves no one behind.”
