The fourth DLC squad, Team Samurai, is revealed in a clip that SNK started broadcasting on Tuesday for its The King of Fighters XV game. In February, SNK made the game available on Windows 10, Steam, the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Xbox Series X|S.
Because the COVID-19 pandemic interfered with the game’s production timeline, SNK had to postpone it. The game’s debut was formerly planned for 2021.
39 playable fighters, including all of the characters from prior games, are included in the base game.
The initial cast of characters for the game consists of: Shun’Ei, Meitenkun, Benimaru Nikaido, Iori, Joe Higashi, Kyo, Chizuru, Leona Heidern, Mai Shiranui, Andy Bogard, Yuri Sakazaki, Terry Bogard, Yashiro Nanakase, King, Shermie, Chris, Ryo Sakazaki, Robert Garcia, Ralf, Clark, Blue Mary, Lu
The game will also receive four new teams, each with three DLC characters. In March, Squad Garou made their DLC debut. Members of the team included Rock Howard, Gato, and B. Jenet. Geese Howard, Billy Kane, and Ryuji Yamazaki are members of Team South Town, which debuted on May 17. Team Awakened Orochi, which consists of Orochi Yashiro, Orochi Shermie, and Orochi Chris, made its debut on August 8. On April 14, Omega Rugal made his free DLC debut.
Director and animator Masami Obari created a short animation for the game (Fatal Fury).
The newest game in the series, The King of Fighters XIV, was published by SNK for the PS4 in August 2016.
The game was then published by SNK in June 2017 on PC via Steam.
In 2022, The King of Fighters: Awaken, a Chinese-animated computer-animated film, will make its simultaneous global debut.
