“There’s No Freaking Way I’ll Be Your Lover! Unless…” Gets TV Anime Adaptation in July 2025

Anime distributor REMOW has announced that the yuri romantic comedy novel series “There’s No Freaking Way I’ll Be Your Lover! Unless…” (Watashi ga Koibito ni Nareru Wake Naijan, Muri Muri! Muri Janakatta!? or WATANARE) by Teren Mikami will be adapted into a TV anime set to premiere in July 2025.

Story Synopsis

The anime follows Renako Amaori, a high school girl striving to leave behind her awkward junior high school years and lead a normal life. Her new friend, Mai Ouzuka, a glamorous and confident fashion model, shakes up her plans by confessing romantic feelings. Renako wants to prove that being best friends is better than being girlfriends, but Mai is determined to convince Renako they’re destined to be lovers. What follows is a whirlwind of love games, misunderstandings, and hilarious competition.
