The Western & Southern Open has rescheduled Serena Williams’ first-round match against Emma Raducanu to Tuesday “on account of a number of scheduling-related circumstances,” the organisation said late Sunday. Williams is getting ready to retire.
Williams, 40, and Raducanu, 19, were initially scheduled to perform on Monday night, but Sunday saw many weather delays.
Williams just just announced her retirement.
Raducanu told the reporters on Sunday, “I think it’s going to be an interesting encounter.” “I’m excited about it. I believe the opportunity to play one of the best, if not the best tennis player of all time, is incredible. Since our careers have converged, I feel really privileged to have the opportunity to play her. It will probably be my final chance to play her. Whatever happens, I believe it will be an amazing experience for me and one I will most likely remember for the rest of my life.”
