The PlayStation VR2 virtual reality (VR) system for the PlayStation 5 gaming device was unveiled in a video that Sony published on Wednesday. The PS VR2’s features and a few compatible titles are showcased in the video.
Early 2023 will see the release of the PS VR2.
A newer model of the PS VR headgear for the PlayStation 4, the PlayStation VR2 system comes with two sets of peripherals: the PS VR2 headset itself and the PS VR2 Sense controllers. With 2000×2040 resolution on each OLED panel, 90/120 Hz per eye, and a 110° field of view, the headset can produce 4K HDR content. Additionally, it will have 3D audio, inside-out tracking for the headset and controllers, and eye tracking. Haptic feedback is a feature that both the PS VR2 headset and PS VR2 Sense controllers will include.
In October 2016, the initial PS VR headset went on sale. The headset was introduced by Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios president Shhei Yoshida at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) event in 2014, then Sony showed the upgraded form of the headset at GDC in March 2015.
