Independence Day

On 15th August, the Independence Day has been celebrated in all over the India. It is the day when the provisions of the 1947 Indian Independence Act, which transferred legislative sovereignty to theĀ Indian Constituent Assembly, came into effect. This special event occur on 15th August 1947 and from that day, every year there will be a national holiday and we celebrate this day.

On 15th August 1947, the first Prime Minister of India, Jawahar Lal Nehru raise the Indian national flag above the Lahori Gate of Red Fort. From that day, every year on this day , all over India, the flag ceremony has been done to celebrate this day.

Schools and offices are closed on this day. In school, on 14th August, the Independence day has been celebrated by flag raising ceremony and by singing Jann Mann Gann song. Some of the schools also treat students.

On 15th August, the current Prime Minister of India raise flag on Lahori Gate of Red Fort and then all of the respected guests and Ministers including Prime Minister sing Jann Mann Gann song. The live video has been telecast all over the India.
