The debut date for Gudetama: An Eggcellent Adventure is revealed in the first trailer.

A new teaser for Gudetama: An Eggcellent Adventure, a new live-action and CG hybrid series based on Sanrio’s well-known lethargic mascot Gudetama, was unveiled on Sunday at the Netflix Tudum Japan streaming event. The series’ global Netflix premiere date is December 13, according to the teaser. Additionally, the Southern All Stars band member Yko Hara’s (not related to the voice actress of the same name) theme song, “Gudetama March,” is hinted to in the trailer.

As said on Netflix:

For those who just want to relax, here is a sluggish, sympathetic road movie about discovering one’s parents.

Gudetama is content to just be lazy all the time after accepting that it would eventually wind up on someone’s plate. But it escapes the refrigerator and enters the outside world after being scooped up by the obstinate, go-getter Shakipiyo. These two polar opposites go on an expedition to discover their mother together!

In 2013, Gudetama became a part of the renowned Sanrio character roster.

Gudetama is described by Sanrio as an egg that is entirely unmotivated and dead to the world. Gudetama is unaffected by any type of cooking that is done.

Numerous online animated shorts use the character. The first animated short had its premiere in March 2014, and the television broadcasts of the shorts continued through the end of 2020. Gudetama Freestyle, a new collection of animated shorts by Sanrio, debuted on YouTube in January 2021.
