Both Viz Media and Shueisha are digitally distributing the manga in English, while Seven Seas is doing the same with the compilation book volumes. In November, Seven Seas will make available the first unedited volume digitally. The story is summarized in Seven Seas as follows:

Kazamaki Matsuri, a teenager, is a longtime member of an exclusive group of ninja exorcists entrusted with combating evil ayakashi spirits that pose a threat to Japan, particularly those chasing his childhood companion, the spirit medium Kanade Suzu. A strong cat named Ayakashi swears to get between the lovers by casting a prohibited magic that transforms Matsuri into a woman as he furiously defends her and their friendship develops into something more. Matsuri must continue fighting ayakashi and returning to school in this new feminine form until he can figure out a method to reverse the curse because there doesn’t seem to be a way to do so.

In June 2020, Yabuki released the manga in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump publication. On September 2, Shueisha released the manga’s tenth collected book volume.

The manga version of the original anime DARLING in the FRANXX was most recently published by Yabuki (To Love-Ru -Trouble-, To Love-Ru -Trouble- Darkness, Black Cat, Mayoi Neko Overrun!) in January 2018 and finished in January 2020 on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ website and app. Eight volumes make up the manga.
