In September, One Week Friends Manga Gets Overseas Live-Action Project

On Friday, The September issue of Square Enix’s Gangan Joker magazine announced that a live – action project of Matcha Hazuki’s One Week Friends Manga has launched overseas. More details will be announced in the future.


In North America, Yen Press published the manga and they describe the story ” The manga is about a boy Yuuki Hase and a girl, Kaori Fujimiya. Kaori Fujiyima is the girl in his class who seems to be alone all the time. Due to hard efforts of Yuuki Hase, they both started to become friends. But soon, Kaori Fujimiya told him that every week her memory got reset. After knowing this secret, Yuuki Hase didn’t give up and tried to become her friend every time her memory got reset. So the main question that rises in the manga is that is he prepared for how much it will hurt to be one- week friends?”

Release Date

The manga was started in 2012 and ended in January 2015.


In April 2015, Hazuki drew a special character for the manga. Manga seventh volume has been published by Square Enix and final compiled book volume in April 2015.

In 2014, One Week Friends inspired a television anime. A live action Japanese film of this manga has been released in 2017. In Japan, Crunchyroll streamed the anime. In North America, Sentai Filmworks released the anime on home video.
