The Misfit of Demon King Academy II, the second season of the anime series, was announced at the Aniplex Online Fest 2022 event on Saturday with a new visual and promotional video. According to the trailer, the new season will debut in January 2023.
There will be divided episodes of the next season (quarters of a year). Yuichiro Umehara will take over as the voice of the main character, Anos, in the upcoming season, replacing Tatsuhisa Suzuki.
The anime’s director Masafumi Tamura (Two Car, Wise Man’s Grandchild) and chief director Shin Oonuma (Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya, A Sister’s All You Need) are both back. Once more, the animation is being made by SILVER LINK. Yoshinori Shizuma’s original character designs are once again being animated by Kazuyuki Yamayoshi (Chaos;Child). Again, the writing for the series will be handled by Jin Tanaka (Laid-Back Camp). Keiji Inai returns to write the soundtrack, while Ryousuke Naya is back as the sound director.
The first season of the anime debuted in July 2020. As the anime aired in Japan, Crunchyroll streamed it.
The Misfit of Demon King Academy: History’s Strongest Demon King Reincarnates and Attends School with His Descendants (Ma Gakuin no Futekigsha “Shij” Saiky no Ma no Shiso, Tensei Shite Shison-tachi no Gakk e Kay), a series of light novels by Shu, is the inspiration for the anime.
In April 2017, Shu released the book series on the Shsetsu ni Nar website.
