Vaidya

Vaidya is a Sanskrit word which means “PHYSICIAN”. In the modern language of Hindi, word is not changed. This word is generally used in India to refer a person who practice the Ayurveda.

Above Vaidya, there is a another title called Vaidyaraja. It represent to those people which are more seniors in the study of Ayurveda. People who called Vaidyaraja are having vast knowledge of Ayurveda and studying Ayurveda for a long time.

Peoples who are having complete knowledge texts and were excellent in practices are also known as Pranaacharya. In India, Some Royal Families in India had a personal vaidya in attendance and these people were referred to as Raja Vaida ( The King’s Physicians )

In Northern and Western states of India, it is also a surname.
