Valtteri Bottas won the Japanese Grand Prix from Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel. Red Bull’s Alexander Albon was in the fourth place, Carlos Sainz in fifth position for McLaren and Charles Leclerc in sixth place.
Bottas’s, The British driver leads the Finn by 64 points and will take the championship if he is 78 in front after the Mexican Grand Prix.
This is Bottas’s sixth career victory and his third this season and his first win at the Japanese Grand Prix.
Mercedes become the race hoping on a circuit in which they have good form. They made minor upgrades to the race which result working well. The car is stronger than before and tyres are working well.
Leclerc hit Verstappen through turn one. The wing got damaged of Ferrari driver and was forced to pit for a replacement. The incident will be investigated after the race.
Bottas quickly opened up a two second hole on Vettel, who was serenely coordinating the Finn’s lap times, while Hamilton was edging up in third. Ferrari set Vettel first on lap 17 to take the delicate tires, focusing on a two-stop race.
