An anime adaptation of the eighth and ninth novels in the Rascal Does Not Dream series will be released.

A new anime project that will adapt the eighth and ninth volumes in the Seishun Buta Yar light novel series will be developed, according to information presented at the Aniplex Online Fest 2022 event on Saturday:

Rascal does not imagine a sister going on an adventure or a kid with a backpack.

The animation at CloverWorks will once again be directed by Sichi Masui.

As for composition and dialogue, Masahiro Yokotani is back, while Satomi Tamura is back as character designer.

The returning cast consists of:

  • Kaito Ishikawa as Sakuta Azusagawa
  • Asami Seto as Mai Sakurajima
  • Yurika Kubo as Kaede Azusagawa
  • Nao Tōyama as Tome Koga
  • Atsumi Tanezaki as Rio Futaba
  • Maaya Uchida as Nodoka Toyohama
  • Inori Minase as Shōko Makinohara

The television anime Seishun Buta Yar wa Bunny Girl-senpai no Yume wo Minai (Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai), based on the series of light novels, had its Japanese debut in October 2018 and ran for 13 episodes. The show was broadcast by Aniplex of America on Cruchyroll, Funimation, and other platforms.

The anime movie Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl (Seishun Buta Yar wa Yume-Miru Shjo no Yume wo Minai), which is based on the sixth and seventh volumes of the series’ light novels, debuted in Japan in June 2019.

The anime was broadcast in the US by Aniplex of America and Funimation Films.

The original English-language light book series is being published by Yen Press.
